We need the presence of God around us as Christians all the time. Consciously invite his presence through prayer, singing, or playing praise and worship songs. Scripture says he inhabits the praises of his people. Psalm 22:3 KJV. In your own closet, kitchen, doing laundry, out and about, you can be listening to uplifting songs, and it causes you to feel light, joyful, inspired, edified. You actually feel the presence of God. He is omnipresent. When his presence comes… he also directs you, guides you. Exodus 33:15 NIV. I love to worship and constantly sing and praise him for who he is, what he’s done, and what he’s about to do.

When we sing, we’re doing what God asks of us! We are promised that the word of Christ will dwell in us richly, which we should crave as believers. We must sing not only in good times but even when we are faced with challenges. The scriptures say Paul and Silas were unjustly imprisoned for the sake of the gospel but they sang hymns to God, suddenly there was a great earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison and the chains were loosed. Acts 16:25-28 NKJV
